I know is already January 2023, but why not share right!?
I am definitely not one to be a huge believer in resolutions every new year. I believe that when you are ready to either make changes or to simply start something you have been thinking about doing, you will do it at your own time. Not because a resolution or a new year.
BUT! I do want to take on some very impressive resolutions this year for me personally that I believe can make a huge impact in my life, and hopefully something in this blog can influence one of you in a positive way as well.
- Positive Thinking
This one sounds like an easy one right?! Not. At least not for me.
I have struggled TREMENDOUSLY with staying positive in the last couple of years, and somehow I have become more of a pessimist I believe. Since becoming a mom it is absolutely normal to always worry about our kids, health, school, friends, home, etc. I do think that there must be a balance though. We can be moms and worry about normal things that moms worry about, but for me. It was consuming me.
I had become this shadow of a person that was just surviving, not living in the moment and not appreciating the fact that my family is healthy and happy. THE TWO most important things ever.
So for this 2023 year I will focus on staying positive, and appreciating everything my family does have. Roof over our heads, health, happiness, food on our table, and love in our hearts for each other.
2. Health
It is no shocker that this is on 99% of everyone’s list HA! Well I am one of them now.
My health took a HUGE change when I decided to embark on my gastric sleeve surgery 2 years ago. I feel like the year 2022 was more about finishing on loose the extra weight, and also learning what foods are good for my body and make me feel good.
I also struggled a lot with my emotional eating habits, and completely got them under control. So I had a lot of personal growth on my eating disorder that I had lived with my entire life.
This year I will focus on more nutritional foods and being more active after I have my baby to help keep me motivated and on track.
3. Making more mom friends
Now that Adam is finally in school consistently I would love to expand my mom network. Moms with kids in Adam’s age range, and also moms that I can identify with, and feel comfortable to have over for dinners, playdates, etc.
One thing I have learned is that it is VERY hard to make friends when you’re a mom because your priorities change so much. Also, the pandemic did not help with my social skills, and my negative thoughts at all. So now I feel it’s time to be myself again. Open up to new connections, and mom that have the same interests as I do, and to form those long lasting friendships.
4. Elevate my brand
Okay, so I’m not like instagram famous or anything like that. But I do aspire to work even harder this new year, and see what comes out of it.
I feel like we all have so many different interests. Honestly I have a lot of different interests, so is hard to pick just one to “niche” on social media. I love cooking, and sharing those quick little recipes. But I also love organizing, cleaning, sharing mom life stuff, skincare, and fashion. But how do I pick one? Also, do I ONLY want to continue to just share things? Or do I long term would want to create a product or company out of it?
I don’t know, but that is what we will find out in 2023.
+Obviously there is so much more I aspire for the year, but I think these are my main focus since I do feel like I completely abandoned those areas of my life for such a long time now.
Hopefully you found something interesting or positive to take away from this blog post.
